In the post-game presser, Francona just said that Brandon Moss is suffering from appendicitis and is having his appendix removed at the moment. After such an excellent performance yesterday it's going to be quite a setback for him.
It's also going to prove to be a potential challenge for Francona. He's got a fragile outfield to start with; if two of them go down, he doesn't really have anyone to bring up. Kielty had hand surgery recently and is out for four to six weeks. Abdominal surgery probably requires a similar, if not longer, recovery time. Hopefully, nothing disastrous happens.
Anyway, speedy recovery to Brandon Moss.
